Cactus Huggers

The 11 year olds went out to the desert to do orienteering. They saw a huge saguaro cactus. They were required to measure the height of this cactus as part of their compass course. Hugging the cactus was not part of the measuring process.

Scout Camporee

Sean I. conducted the uniform inspection. Four out of the five scouts were able to attend the event. Skylar J. Matt R. Richie P. and Dallin M.

Andy D. and Jared C. took the scouts just to the Saturday's events. Except Dallin joined the older scouts and camped over night to pass off a needed requirement.

These historical merit badges can only be earned during the 2010 calendar year, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts in the USA. All of these merit badges were first offered in 1911 and discontinued in 1952 expect for the Signaling merit badge that was first offered in 1910 and discontinued in 1992.
